Caught on CCTV: Bengaluru Man Assaults Neighbour’s Pet Dog After It Barked at His Wife (X)
Bengaluru: A man has been accused of assaulting his neighbour's pet dog, named Scooby, after it barked at his wife. The incident took place in Averehalli near Madanayakanahalli on the outskirts of the Bengaluru.
The disturbing case of animal cruelty took place on the evening of April 11 in Averehalli, Bengaluru. The incident happened after the dog barked at a woman from a neighbouring house. Later the man entered the dog owner's house and allegedly attacked the pet dog with a wooden stick.
The dog, named Scooby, belongs to a resident named Anjinappa, who lives in a layout in the area. The accused has been identified as Gopi.
As per the complaint, the pet dog, named Scooby, who was tied near the gate of the house, barked when Gopi's wife was passing near the residence and allegedly tried to chase her.
Angered by the incident, later at around 8:30 pm, Gopi reportedly came to the house carrying a wooden stick and then attacked the dog, hitting it on the head.
The dog collapsed on the ground and lost consciousness. Later, the owner of the dog rushed it to a veterinary hospital, where it received treatment and is now out of danger.
The entire act was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the area or house.
After the incident, a complaint has been registered at the Madanayakanahalli Police Station. Police have begun investigation into the case, with CCTV footage serving as key evidence.
